Isaiah 49:25 (KJV)
25 "But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children."
When we think about the salvation and the well-being of our loved ones, it’s natural to feel concerned, especially when we see them struggling, rejecting the truth, or turning away from God. It’s easy to become discouraged when family members and close friends seem so far from the gospel.
But I want to remind you that His love for them is even greater than ours.
"I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children." God sees the spiritual battles we’re facing on behalf of our loved ones, and He promises to fight those battles for us. This is so liberating and freeing!
Satan makes you fight the battle, but God promises he will contend and fight for them. SHEESH.
He cares about your family more than you do, and He is actively working to bring them to the light. So instead of preaching to them, pray for them. Believe for them and receive them.
We must remember that Jesus didn't just die for us, he died for ALL.
Sometimes we carry a heavy burden for our loved ones who don’t yet know Jesus. We feel like it’s up to us to convince them or bring them into the fold, but the truth is Jesus has already done the work on the cross. He died not just for you, but for your family members as well. All sins; past, present, and future have been nailed to the cross for everyone.
God is the one who draws people to Himself. It’s not about our efforts or persuasion. It’s about trusting that God is actively at work in the hearts of those we love. Satan tries to discourage us, making us believe that there’s no hope especially when we face rejection but the victory has already been won through Jesus.
God's love reaches deeper than our doubts.
The hardest thing we face as true believers is waiting on God's timing. We want to see them come to Christ now, but God’s timing is perfect. He knows what is needed to bring them to the light, and He is never late. We have to trust that the seeds we plant in their lives, through love, prayer, and sharing the gospel, will take root in God’s time. God’s heart is for all people to be saved, including those in our families. His patience and love extend far beyond what we can imagine. He is always working even when it doesn't seem like it.
God's delay does not mean God's denial.
We should never place a period where God places a comma. We can never control God's timing, doing so would only cause us stress and misery. Instead, we need to trust his timing above all things. God never intended for us to carry the burden of saving our families. He is far more capable than we are of reaching their hearts. When we have faith in this, we release the burden to him and peace starts to flow into our hearts.
Rather than begging God for our families to be saved, thank God for already saving our families through Jesus, dying on the cross 2000 years ago.
If you’re struggling with the salvation of a loved one, remember that God is already at work. He sees them, loves them, and is fighting for them. You don’t have to carry the burden alone. Trust that God is capable of drawing them to Himself in His perfect timing.
