Exodus 35:2 (KJV)
2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the Lord: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
In this verse, God tells the Israelites to work for 6 days and rest on the 7th day for it is holy. On the surface level it looks like God is instituting a day of rest, but it's so much deeper than that. He’s foreshadowing the spiritual rest that is found in Jesus. After Jesus completed His work on earth—living a sinless life, fulfilling the Law, and taking the sins of the world upon Himself—He rested, seated at the right hand of God in heaven. This rest signifies completion, not inactivity, and it’s the place from which He reigns.
Being Christ-like isn’t about replicating Jesus’ earthly deeds or trying to perform as He did. Rather, it means entering into the same rest He now enjoys, fully believing that He has finished the work of salvation and that there’s nothing left for us to add.
Hebrews 1:3 tells us “When he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.” Jesus is seated because His work is complete. To be Christ-like is to accept that nothing remains undone and that we’re invited to rest with Him, fully assured that He has accomplished everything.
True Christ-likeness is living in Faith not effort.
Being like Christ is about faith in His finished work, not about replicating His actions or accomplishments. When we think of “Christ-likeness,” we often imagine following His example in actions—showing compassion, serving others, and living righteously. While these are beautiful fruits of faith, the core of Christ-likeness is faith in His work and resting in it, just as He rested.
In order to rest, we must believe. True faith in Jesus doesn’t lead to striving but to rest, knowing that we are fully accepted and complete in Him.
The reason why Jesus cried “It is finished” on the cross, wasn’t just a statement that he completed his mission, it was an invitation into His rest.
When we choose to rest in Jesus, we are, in the truest sense, being Christ-like. We are joining Him in His state of peace and completed work. Trying to “finish” what Jesus has already done is to deny the completeness of His sacrifice. To rest is to honor His victory and acknowledge that He alone is sufficient.
In Exodus 35:2, the Sabbath is more than a day of ceasing from work; it is a call to embrace the rest of Jesus. It is true rest that comes from knowing our salvation is secure and our relationship with God is complete. Being Christ-like is less about following a set of behaviors and more about following Him into His rest, embracing the finished work He accomplished.
True Christ-likeness is resting in His finished work, not working to replicate His efforts.

Haggai 2:9 (KJV)
9 "The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts."
The book of Haggai is often overlooked. Many of us don't even know it exists as a book in the bible. But it contains profound truth that points us straight to Jesus and the eternal salvation He offers. God promises that the "glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former," and that "in this place will I give peace.
On the surface level it seems like God is speaking about the temple being rebuilt. But when we look deeper, it carries a spiritual meaning that points to Jesus Christ as the true fulfillment of this promise.
The "latter house" is symbolic of the new covenant through Jesus. Under the old covenant, the temple was where God’s presence dwelled, but now, through Jesus, we have become the dwelling place of God’s Spirit. He is with us always. The glory of Jesus’ sacrifice and the eternal salvation He secured for us is far greater than anything the old covenant could ever offer.
When Haggai spoke of the future glory, he was prophesying about more than just the physical temple. He was pointing to the glory of Jesus Christ and his eternal redemption. The peace that Haggai prophesied about was made possible through Jesus’ offering. He alone brings us true peace with God. The greatest temple isn’t built by hands, it's built off the blood of Jesus Christ.
Haggai also speaks about peace in this verse. This peace is more than just the absence of conflict. The peace we receive is an eternal relationship with God. We are no longer separated from God by sin, because Jesus has reconciled us through His perfect offering. Once we believe in Jesus, we are forever secure in our salvation, and nothing can take that away. The peace of the "latter house" is found in the fact that we have a permanent place in God’s family through Christ.
Peace isn't just a feeling guys, it's forever. Different F's.
We are forever secure in Jesus. We can never lose our salvation no matter what is done. Jesus offered Himself as the ultimate sacrifice, He paid for all of our sins—past, present, and future. His sacrifice was perfect, and it accomplished what no other offering could. We are now made righteous through His blood, and we stand eternally justified in the eyes of God. We don’t need to strive or work to add to our salvation. It’s already been done. We have been perfected forever in Christ.
Rather than believing in signs and miracles, believe you are divine and spiritual. Amen!
Song of Solomon 8:6-7 (KJV)
6 Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.
7 Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.
Many people are worried about their eternal salvation. Thankfully God recorded these beautiful words in the bible. These verses aren’t just about human love, they symbolize the divine love of God for His people, a love that cannot be broken, quenched, or washed away. In the same way, our salvation, secured through Jesus Christ, is as unshakable as this love.
When verse 6 says, "Set me as a seal upon thine heart," it speaks to a permanent mark, almost like a tattoo on God's heart. A seal in ancient times represented ownership, security, and protection. When God sets His seal upon us, it is a declaration that we are His forever.
Nothing can break that seal of eternal security.
We are sealed in God’s love, and our salvation cannot be lost or stolen. "For love is strong as death," the passage continues. Death is final and unyielding, but God’s love is just as powerful and lasting. Once we are saved, nothing can separate us from the love of God. This love is so strong, it withstands even the grave. The moment we believe in Jesus, we are secured in an eternal relationship with Him that even death or sin cannot undo it.
The fire of God’s love, as described in Song of Solomon, is a flame that can never be extinguished.
7 "Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it." Just as floods and waters cannot extinguish the love of God, nothing in life can diminish His love for us or undo the salvation He has given. When trials, failures, or even doubts flood our lives, God’s love remains as strong as ever.
The enemy often tries to convince us that we’ve fallen too far, that we’ve lost God’s love or our salvation. But the truth is, once you’re saved, you’re secure forever. Jesus paid the full price for your salvation, and no amount of failures or floods can undo what He has already accomplished. You are sealed in God’s love, and nothing can change that. God’s love for us is not based on our performance, obedience, or worthiness. It’s based on His character and the sacrifice of Jesus. Once we’ve accepted Christ, we are sealed with His Spirit and marked as His own forever.
We cannot lose our salvation because it was never dependent on us. It has always been dependent on Jesus.
God has sealed you with His Spirit, guaranteeing your eternal inheritance. I hope that we can believe that our future is sure because our salvation is secure.
